CBSE Class 9 Science Syllabus 2026–27 (NEP 2020 Updated | NCERT Integrated Science + Chapter List)

As per NEP 2020 & updated by NCERT (for CBSE)
The CBSE Class 9 Science Syllabus 2026–27 has been updated in line with the National Education Policy 2020 and latest framework released by NCERT. The syllabus now follows an integrated science approach, where Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and Earth Science are taught together instead of as separate subjects. This change shifts the focus from theory-heavy learning to conceptual understanding, inquiry, and real-life application, with increasing emphasis on competency-based education (CG-1 to CG-8).
Major Structural Change: Science now includes 4 components:–
- Science is now Integrated (Physics + Chemistry + Biology + Earth Science)
- Earth Science is introduced as a new component
- Learning is competency-based (As per document from CG-1 to CG-8) Focus more on:
1. Experiments 2. Data Interpretation 3. Real life application
Assessment shifting towards:–
1. Case-based 2. Application-based 3. Reasoning based questions
Full Preparation + Concept Mastery
✔ Concept + Application Learning
✔ Mock Tests & Performance Analysis
