- It was one of the first IITs to introduce BTech in Data Science & AI.
While IIT Guwahati may not have the centuries-old legacy of some other IITs, it has established itself as a premier institution of India. In just three decades, IIT Guwahati has established its mark in cutting-edge research, innovation, and as the technological powerhouse of North-Eastern India. Interestingly, apart from its innovations in semiconductors, quantum gravity, and health tech, it is the only institute to have transferred swine fever vaccine technology (in India).
IIT Guwahati’s Department of Biosciences and Bioengineering, in collaboration with Assam Agricultural University, developed India’s first recombinant swine fever vaccine. Thereafter, the intellectual property for this vaccine was transferred to BioMed Pvt. Ltd., a Ghaziabad-based company specializing in the production of veterinary vaccines.
If you value a strong focus on cutting-edge research, excellent placements, and a thriving student community, IIT Guwahati must be on your list. Let’s explore every aspect of IIT Guwahati: The admission process, cut-offs, fees, campus, placements, notable alumni, and much more!
